District Profile

Lane County Fire District No.1 is located west of the city of Eugene, in Oregon's Willamette Valley, between the coast range and the Cascades. The District is 20 miles from the Pacific Ocean and 80 miles from the Willamette Pass summit. The District covers approximately 200 square miles of Western Lane County, and proudly protects the communities of Crow, Elmira, Noti, Veneta, Walton, and some unincorporated areas of Junction City and Eugene.

The area is popular with hikers, hunters and fishermen. It contains miles of forest land with scenic roads, trails and rivers. It's home to several renowned vineyards and Fern Ridge Reservoir (a popular boating location). The district is also home of the famous Oregon Country Fair, which, for 4 days each year becomes Oregon's 5th largest City.

Our personnel consist of approximately 90 volunteers, and 9 full time paid staff; 1 civilian, 8 uniformed.

Services we offer include structural and wildland fire suppression, Haz-Mat first response coordinated with the state's Region 2 Haz-Mat Response Team, vehicle (and other) extrication, and medical response to aid sick or injured persons until an ambulance can arrive from Eugene Fire and EMS.
